SANT ANDREU CHURCH
Modified Romanesque chapel, north of Valira, with rectangular nave and east-facing semicircular apse
This Romanesque chapel, built in the 12th century and modified many times, is located on the border between Andorra la Vella and Escaldes, to the north of Valira. The nave is rectangular and the apse is semicircular, facing east. Inside the church there are paintings by Carme Mas depicting the life of Sant Andreu (Saint Andrew, known as the first of the apostles to meet Jesus and an actor in the unification of the Eastern and Western Churches) as well as the family and friends of the Andorran artist.
