MARGINEDA BRIDGE
Elegant Romanesque stone bridge with a single arch, 33 m long and 9.20 m high, below the road
Below the road, the elegant Romanesque stone bridge of La Margineda spans the Gran Valira with its unique arch. Located on the royal road from Sant Julià de Lòria to Andorra la Vella, it is the largest and oldest medieval bridge, built in the 15th century. It is 33 m long and rises to 9.20 m at its highest point. The stones that make up the bridge are called Valirenque, because they were carried by the river Valira to the site. Next to it is a sculpture by the Valencian Vicenç Alfaro symbolizing the past and present of Andorra.
