CASA AUVINYÀ VINEYARD
Winery to the south of Sant Julià de Lòria with tasting room and guided tours of the winery
After more than a century of interruption, the wine industry in Andorra has resumed since 2004, so much so that there are now three vineyards spread throughout the parish of Sant Julià de Lòria. The Casa Auvinyà vineyard is located in the village of the same name, a few kilometers south of Sant Julià de Lòria at an altitude of 1,150 meters. With 5,000 vines - including white and red varieties - and an average production of 1,500 bottles per year, Casa Auvinyà is undoubtedly the most famous vineyard in the region. Guided tours are organized on request and allow a complete discovery of the winery. It starts with a pleasant walk through the vineyards (the main grape varieties here are pinot noir, pinot gris and viognier) with beautiful views of the valleys of southern Andorra in the background. Then comes the most athletic part of the tour, which takes place on much steeper terrain, with slopes of 60%: this is where the Syrah vines make their home. This preliminary walk gives the opportunity to observe the perfect integration of the estate with the orography of the area and the adaptation of the production to its geological properties. After the exterior visit, we move on to the interior infrastructures: fermentation room and cellars, before ending at the tasting area to taste the unique beverages of this Andorran winery.
