Our room was the garden room which is very sizeable and comfortable with a king bed, a bunk bed and another single bed.
There is an underground garage but I had some problems with my car (a Mercedes Vito bus), the first time I went in I scratched it against the wall as it's a quite narrow turn. When I came out I managed to do it, so it is possible but it is hard.
Other parking options are six spaces belonging to the hotel (often full) and yellow boxes near the hotel (including the actual ski lift car park belinging to the Grandvalira lift operator. Apparently these are ok but there are no clear signings either way.
Another option is parking in the village across the roundabout which is free at night (and then potentially move it during the day to the Grandvalira car park or elsewhere).
I stupidly parked my car in a no parking zone and got clamped, only to be released later. All not the hotel's fault but I am putting this out as information for guests who may not want to use the underground car park.
So overall a very nice stay and fully recommended. Great value for money. Only reason for four instead of five stars is that the hotel itself is a little dated but this does not detract from the overall enjoyable stay.
Tes bon rapport qualité-prix
Je recommande!!
One suggestion is to have an ‘adults only’ pool time.
Last but not least the ski locker room is nice and warm so dry boots in the morning!
Piscina demasiado fria y descuidada
Generally, the decor is very neat. The hotel has a very pleasant indoor pool with jacuzzi (beautiful view of the mountains), a lounge treatments (closed when we visited), and an elegant dining room restaurant. Half-board at €90 night in August: given the quality of the meal and pdj, it is a very interesting choice.
The only downside: El Tarter is a residential small village. Hard to park and very few shops and restaurants near the hotel
