CASA RULL MUSEUM
Multi-storey house museum with gift store, offering a one-hour tour using an audio guide
This house-museum, whose main body dates back to 1623, bears witness to the way of life in Andorra from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century. It is undoubtedly the most famous house in the parish of La Massana. At that time, Andorran rural society lived essentially from agriculture and livestock in a natural environment marked by the steep relief, the rigorous climate and the precariousness of communications. At the heart of this life, the house, as a social system, was at the center of the village. The house of the Perichs, a very influential family - one of the richest - in the parish of La Massana, was remodeled until the beginning of the 20th century according to the needs. The last tenant left in 1920. The visit follows the rhythm of a story on several floors. The first floor includes the cellars and the wine cellars, the second floor houses the kitchen, the dining room, the kneading trough and the vegetable garden; the second floor presents the cycles of life through different rooms (marriage, birth of the heir, childhood, old age and death), the last floor is reserved for the attic where a photographic film is shown that ends the visit. You can choose to visit Casa Rull using an audioguide (in French) or by hiring the services of a guide who will comment on the visit, which lasts about an hour, in French. For the second option, it is essential to make a reservation in advance. There is also a small souvenir store on site.
