CORTINADA NATURE CENTRE
Nature center in Casa Masover, offering guided tours and excursions and organizing workshops for schoolchildren
The Nature Center is located in the Casa Masover, a former property of the Rossell family. The building houses the permanent exhibition "2,104 m of landscape", which explains the process of formation of the Pyrenees, the climatological phenomena that accompany it and illustrations of the fauna and flora of Andorra. The name of the exhibition "2,104 m of landscape" comes from the maximum height difference in Andorra, between its highest peak, Coma Pedrosa, at 2,942 m, and the lowest point, the bridge over the Runer River at 838 m. Afterwards, interactive panels with beautiful photos allow you to experience the mountain by touching different materials, listening to bird songs or breathing in the scents of nature. During the visit, you are accompanied by nature sounds, which immerse you in an authentic mountain atmosphere. A good way to get acquainted with the nature and environment of the Ordino Valley, with water as a guideline. The visit is guided and the center organizes workshops for schools. Excursions are then offered to put into practice what you have read. A good example of this are the interpretation trails in Sorteny Natural Park. A fun and interactive way to discover the beautiful natural areas - and their secrets - of the parish of Ordino. A visit that will please both children and nature lovers!
