OBSERVATOIRE ASTRONOMIQUE DE MONT-SOLEIL - SOCIÉTÉ D'ASTRONOMIE LES PLÉIADES DE ST-IMIER
The Mont-Soleil observatory is located very close to the town of Saint-Imier, on the heights towards the north. Recently, it has integrated several particularly interesting scientific and educational materials and tools, including a telescope with a good diameter under the dome and a planetarium dedicated to the popularization of astronomy. Its access throughout the year is reserved for groups, but it also offers public evenings accessible to all according to important astronomical events, as well as on the occasion of national celebrations dedicated to astronomy. It should be noted that nearby is located the International Photovoltaic Test Centre (Mont-Soleil Solar Centre) capable of supplying up to 500 kilowatts of alternating current, thanks to its network of panels covering a total useful area of 4,575 m². Guided tours are also possible by calling 844 121 123, or by e-mail at [email protected].
