Personalised rooms in a youth hostel close to the CCF train station in Basel.

For a roots stay, this youth hostel is the perfect place to stay. Located 10 minutes from the CCF station. A warm and relaxed welcome in the premises of Gundeldingerfeld, this former industrial complex that has been renovated as a centre of life in the district, which is exceptionally well suited to an inn that boasts its young and urban character. The rooms are all designed and decorated differently, with unusual objects: antiques, dentist's chair, etc. For the real backpackers, equipped kitchen, washing machine and dryer at your disposal. Lounge area with old armchairs and sofas, to chat over a drink and meet people. In a few words: an address that breathes youth.

Ich finde es ein schönes Fleckchen um Urlaub zu machen. Man hört zwar beim Sitzen draußen das Leben und den Verkehr der Stadt, aber es fühlt sich irgendwie nicht wirklich störend an. Die Menschen denen man da begegnet sind nett und man kann auch mal spontan ein paar nette Gespräche führen. Das Gebäude wirkt zwar an manchen Ecken "Alt", aber ich finde das gibt dem ganzen noch etwas Charme in der heutigen Moderne und dem schnellen Leben, man kommt da Recht gut zur Ruhe wenn man sich drauf einlässt. Und wer mag,der kann sich noch in der Brauerei nebenan sein Feierabendbierchen holen.

Mein Mann und ich waren mit unserer eineinhalbjährigen Tochter hier und es war super. Wir hatten viel Gepäck und waren bereits sehr früh in Basel. Obwohl der Checkin erst später am Tag gewesen wäre, durfen wir unser Gepäck bereits deponieren und haben die Basel Karte für den ÖV erhalten. Auch nach dem Checkput durften wir unser Gepäck nochmals an der Rezeption deponieren bis wir Basel verliessen. Es war ein schöner Aufenthalt, sehr freundliches, hilfsbereites Personal, Zimmer war cool mit Hochbetten, auch die Gemeinschaftstoiletten waren sauber. Auf Anfrage hatten sie uns ein Babybett im Zimmer bereitgestellt. Super fanden wir auch, dass man für die gesamten Aufenthaltstage ein Ticket bekommt, mit dem man den ÖV in und um Basel gratis nutzen kann. Es war mega und wir kommen gerne wieder!
