Founded in 1905, Merkur began by selling tea, coffee and chocolate. The Merkur shop in Basel on the Market Square is the most famous of them all, having been taken over by the chocolate maker Läderach in 2004. A real success story! You will find a magnificent collection of packaged and weighed chocolates. In summer, don't miss the milk and strawberry chocolate. A place of delicacies that can be found on the other side of the Rhine, in Germany, in Freiburg im Breisgau.
