TECHNORAMA
Touch, try, observe and understand are the watchwords of this superb museum dedicated to science and technology. As one of the world's largest science centres, Technorama is unique in Europe. In the same vein as the Parisian Museum of La Villette, the centre presents a panorama of natural and technical phenomena and their application. With more than 500 experimental stations installed on three floors, the exhibition was divided into several sectors: Mécanicus (force, momentum and rotation), Scène des éclairs (voltages and currents), Aimants et courants, Laboratoire de chimie et physique, Coin de l'inventeur (to build its own machine), Scène des gaz, Laboratoire de biologie, Mathémagie (le coin des mathématiques bien, sûr!), Water, nature and chaos, View of the mind (phenomena of illusions), Orbitarium (the fascinating history of the planet Earth), Games of light, etc. Outside, the museum's vast park allows visitors to stroll in the open air but also offers impressive experiences in direct contact with the natural elements. Throughout the visit, the emphasis here is on experience, manipulation and touch; the natural sciences in a playful way, in short! If you have nightmare memories of your physics, chemistry or mathematics classes, forget your assumptions: the visit is both informative and fun. We find there as if by magic the pleasure of discovery and this thirst for knowledge so present in children. With countless demonstrations and the opportunity to interact, visitors (of all ages) will be able to learn and grasp phenomena that are often incomprehensible to the layman. Children in particular will be delighted with many fun self-service experiences, workshops as well as impressive shows and entertainment tours throughout the day. It's so big that it's hard to visit everything in one day, so try to get there early to get the most out of it.
