SAINT CATHERINE'S CONVENT
The history of this women's convent began in 1228. Here you enter the white vaults to appreciate the sober lines of this Gothic cloister, its inner courtyard with abundant vegetation. The current construction dates from the th century (1504-1507), which is virtually identical. It was a convent of women, the rule of which stretched over centuries until its closure, as decadence struck the monastery of men. In the Reformation, the sisters were ordered to convert (they were on the territory of the city) and, despite their resistance and appeals to the Pope, they had to evacuate the places. The convent then became a higher school. Today there are a few apartments, art shops, but above all a library-game and an exhibition room. This truly admirable and relaxing framework also hosts concerts in summer.
