The small chapel listed as a Heilighäsli dates back to 1551. It is built on an old wooden bridge, of which there are still some vestiges steeped in history. Since the Middle Ages, this wooden footbridge was used by pilgrims to Santiago to cross the lake. The chapel served as a place of prayer for them in their path. In 2001, a modern 841-metre long wooden bridge was built on Lake Rapperswil, which makes it easy to admire the chapel.
