This bistro is a must for those who want to enjoy a fondue in the rules of the art. The inhabitants of Carouge will tell you that they eat the best of the canton but not always the cheapest, as well as other specialities such as the calf's head. The small room is always full in winter. The place is full of charm, reminding the guinguettes of Carouge. Don't be offended if you have to share your table with tourists on the go. The family kitchen also offers other typical Swiss dishes: rösti, cheese crusts or Vaud sausage.

On December 4th, 2010, we had reserved a table for 4 people at 21:00. We arrive at 20:30, half of the tables were still empty and the owner and her employee told us that you had come too early and return 30 minutes later! We were surprised by this not very warm welcome and we took a drink in a bistro. We returned 30 minutes later at 21:00 and all the tables were full. The owner told us that there was no more space and was to get to see elsewhere! We were irritated and we said that 30 minute earlier half of the tables were empty and more we had reserved! But the owner did not wanting to know and by guest seated at table were surprised by all this small scandal. The owner did not even excuse herself and auction us... my life above, I never had such a welcome in a restaurant and even less a reservation which is not granted to us! I do not recommend the restaurant Carouge Old at all and will know that even when booking, you are likely to be transferred including swines. Fortunately, we finally could eat in the La Bourse restaurant where we have been very well received without reservation, despite the fact that it was the (of the welcome found a little square for 4 people).
