MUR DES RÉFORMATEURS (REFORMATION WALL)
A must-see monument for Geneva, the "Protestant Rome". The wall of the Reformation commemorates this important period.
The International Monument of the Reformation is leaning against part of the old city walls dating from the 16th century. Four huge figures are depicted in bas-relief on a height of 5 m: John Calvin (1509-1564), who wrote the civil and religious laws, Guillaume Farel (1489-1565), a preacher sent from Berne, Theodore de Bèze (1513-1605), Calvin's successor, and John Knox (1505-1572), one of the founders of the Presbyterian Church in Scotland. The motto of the Reformation and Geneva: Post Tenebras Lux, "after darkness, light".
