Unique timepieces in one of the most prestigious museums in Geneva. An essential visit to be planned.

It's time to discover the marvelous works of watchmaking. Geneva, the jewel of watchmaking, offers here the most majestic of all watchmaking museums. Housed in an Art Deco building erected at the beginning of the 20th century, the Patek Philippe Museum exhibits important collections of watchmaking and enamelware of Genevan, Swiss and European origin, ranging from the 16th to the 20th century. A journey through five centuries of watchmaking art, including a library of more than 7,000 books on watchmaking and its related fields.

Unpleasant front desk, rude red-headed audio guide lady...all in need of customer service training

Amazing historical time pieces. Great amount of information gone about a huge portion of the inventory.

A nice look into the history of watchmaking, from the very first portable watches to modern wristwatches, also including various other historically related trinkets. It did get quite repetitive with many similar things later on, but would probably be interesting for the watch enthusiasts out there. 10 CHF for entrance pp., not that expensive but definitely not cheap. There was a free audio guide and the staff were friendly.
There were signs saying that large cameras and flash wasn’t allowed, but then a sign saying that phones were allowed, so we naturally thought it meant we could take pictures with phones, but not with huge cameras (apparently many others thought the same) but later on we got told off by security. Very misleading sign, they could just have written that photography wasn’t allowed. That was a bad experience so here are some pictures for revenge haha

"Spectaculaire... Il n'y a pas de mots pour décrire la collection que ce musée abrite. La visite guidée est fortement recommandée."

Nice, informative museum with a lot of precious exhibits.

I would have given it five stars if not for the high admission fees.
