Located just below the cathedral, L'Évêché is an institution in Lausanne where you can enjoy a gourmet and traditional cuisine in the heart of the old city. The list of fondues is long: four cheeses, with mushrooms, shallots, curry or even chilli. Brasserie dishes and the weekly menu complete the picture. In summer, the small shady garden at the back is particularly nice and bucolic, with a garland of light bulbs and small wrought iron tables. A historical and gourmet stopover in the heart of the city.

Avoid! extremely poor service
Before deciding whether to eat or just have a drink, I ask to use the toilet. Hop one of the servers walks past me and stays there for 10mins. It's Sunday afternoon, good prince I order 1 beer, the other waiter barely deigned to look up, he was putting ip 1 table. the beer barely arrived, a 3rd waiter comes to set up my table by putting the 3 place settings in front of me, without speaking to me. I swallow my beer askew, then I wanted to be tempted by a fondue at 28frs (without potatoes 2frs or pickle 5frs extra, never seen that), I sit in front of my chair on the place where the cover was put, immediately the same server, said to me in a tone as disagreeable as his look was hideous: the table is reserved, sit down elsewhere. It was too much. these nickel-plated feet from the restoration, shoot themselves in the foot despite the perseverance of customers to come there, though a good bunch of negative opinions. I hardly dare to imagine what it must be like at the time of the shot (12h-14h). I bet indigestion is guaranteed. And since there isn't one that catches up with the other, guys, do another job, amateur band, leave room (vey well sited ) for people who know the word "Service" which must not have reached your ears yet. Obviously. Never again. Neither I recommend you

Trouver mieux ailleurs ?

Meeting place for students, studies or seeking souvenirs! Not to be satisfied with the small terrace at the entrance, cross the restaurant and you find in a shaded garden in the heart of the city! The dishes of the local produce are excellent, but fillets of perch win to be tasted closer to the lake.

Ca reste un lieu incontournable et mythique. Brassage de populations et de fondues, accompagnées si l'on veut de pain ET de pommes de terre (à souligner). Fondue à la bière. Et des fondues plus atypiques. Service efficace et prévenant. Un classique.
I have been eating fondues everywhere, but those of the bishopric are undeniably best, creamy, smooth, valais dish is really copious and very good my friends chose meringues with double cream, it was a real treat for the palace and the eyes. A real painting, the icing on the cake it was the service, the pretty waitress with a smile of princess, and very welcoming really worth a detour, lives fondue and bright the bishopric. So long and thank you thousand times
