The building is quite imposing, to say the least. Built in 1906, it opened its doors in 1909. Focusing on upscale tourism, the hotel attracted travelers of great style, and was one of the most luxurious establishments in Switzerland. The building retains the charm of the high-end seaside resorts of yesteryear, where guests stayed for an entire season, accompanied by their domestic staff and trunks. A site steeped in history and rooms with a modern design. If you're not staying there, why not enjoy a drink on the rooftop?

Just returned from an exceptional experience at the Royal Savoy Lausanne! My daughter and I felt like royalty here. It's rare to have an experience where every single encounter stands out, this hotel wrote the book on consistency! The hotel itself is quiet elegance everywhere you look: the lobby, restaurants, rooms, spa, pool! It was soooo comfortable. But the biggest standout were the staff, from our check in experience with Matteo, his greeting (after we had just done a long haul flight from Canada) was perfection, to everyone at the front desk there after, as well as the room attendants, the room service staff were so pleasant upon delivery, as well as the the spa. The biggest standout were the concierge team, they were ALL incredible, we happen to have more encounters with our new friends Giordano and Loris. I have never had concierge service like this!! These guys treated us like we had been good friends for years, offered us very helpful guidance, checked in and asked how our trip was going and actually are a part of our story when we tell family how this trip was. If you are lucky enough to stay at this wonderful hotel, make sure to befriend the concierge staff, they were all above and beyond helpful and memorable!!

Oh and make sure to have a dinner at their Sky Lounge, you will not be disappointed and trust the dining choices of the concierge, we were blown away from their other picks as well!

In almost every part of the hotel the street and hotel noise is present. I was in a garden facing room initially, it faces the road and none of the doors are sound proofed. You can hear banging in the other rooms, banging from doors and not sure what else. I felt like my balcony was shaking. The lovely staff tried to accommodate me to another part of the building, also faces a road. There’s another part of the hotel facing a garden but you can still hear all the noise from the other rooms. No views of the lake in any rooms I was offered. But you can clearly see that ‘lake facing’ rooms face the road anyway (and you’re quite a way from the lake, much closer to the road).
Considering how beautiful this area is and the cost of this hotel, I struggle to find value here.
There are skiff marks all over the furniture in the rooms, my first room wasn’t clean there were cobwebs on the windows and glass marks and grease marks on the table.
The furniture and decor is rather shoddy, dark grey and almost with an air of oppressive sterility, which is misplaced seeing as this is clearly not aiming to be a business hotel.
Reception staff are lovely and helpful, unfortunately I think they must be on commission or some kind of pressure to upsell clients to upgrade their rooms. I’ve been here over 20 times for dinner/drinks/conferences and you always hear them trying to sell upgrades to rooms. And the same was my experience here as a guest.
What a contract to the Savoy in London, which is first rate.
