SAUVABELIN TOWER
Beautiful views of Lake Geneva and the Alps, with light changing with the seasons.
A grandiose view rewards the climb up the 302 steps of this tower in the Sauvabelin woods, considered Lausanne's green lung. The conical belvedere offers a breathtaking 360-degree view of the lake, the city, the Jura mountains and the Alps. Built from solid wood, the tower is 35 m high and weighs almost 90 t. At the base, exhibitions are organized. The idea behind the tower? According to the initiator of the project, it symbolizes "the future of wood". According to him, only "timber can pay for the upkeep and reforestation of forests".
