Bâtie entre 1762 et 1767 sur l'emplacement d'un sanctuaire de style gothique tardif, l’église paroissiale de Delémont est un témoin important de la transition entre le baroque tardif et le néo-classicisme débutant. Deux restaurations ont eu lieu de 1972 à 1975 et dernièrement entre 2012 et 2014. L’édifice possède une façade occidentale monumentale en pierre de taille d'une grande sobriété. Le clocher, aussi en pierre de taille, légèrement penché, remplaça en 1850/51 la flèche gothique. A l'intérieur, le bois des stalles du chœur et du magnifique buffet d'orgues (un des plus important de la région) ainsi que la richesse polychrome des autels tempèrent l'atmosphère un peu froide de l'architecture. L'église actuelle est inscrite comme monument historique au patrimoine suisse.
