C’est un élégant bâtiment baroque dont l’œuvre est de Pierre-François Paris (1761/64) ; l’édifice allie des influences française et allemande du sud et une horloge publique extérieure au sommet du bâtiment. L’édifice abrite de nos jours la chancellerie de la ville.
