It's a veritable Lugano institution. This insanely elegant establishment has been open since... 1803! It houses a dining room, patio and library. Refined cuisine is served in a distinguished setting. We really recommend it for a cappuccino accompanied by one of the wonderful pastries in the Al Porto café/confectionery section. Be sure to look up and admire the ceiling, dating from 1500 and frescoed by Florentine artist Carlo Bonafedi. There's also a meeting room for 2 to 44 people.

yes, definetely a place to go. It is full of fantastic rooms with ceilings in wood or glass always decorated in a fantastic way. It was born in 1903 and between its guest there are Cattaneo, Mazzini and Sophia Loren. The price is high but do not expect any discount in Switzerland. The paillard was tender and the fennel soup delicious. Waiters always ready.
