From start to finish Jothea and her team were excellent, arranging our transfer to and from the airport, to picking out a top quality 4x4 for our 2200km trip around Namibia. Excellent communication with any concern we had. If your thinking of driving anywhere in Namibia, 100% would recommend Drive Namibia!!!

1. Windhoek - Mariental 331
2. Mariental via Köcherwald und Keetmanshoop zum Canyon Roadhouse 410
3. Canyon Roadhouse - Fish River Canyon - Ai Ais Camp 102
4. Ai-Ais über Aussenkehr, Rosh Pinar uns aus nach Lüderitz 480
5. Lüberitz über Aus und Helmeringhausen nach Mount D’Urban Campsite 255
6. Mount D’Urban Campsite über Betta nach Sesriem 300
7. Sesriem nach Sossuvlai Dune 45, Deadvlai, dann nach Solitaire Campsite 230
8. Solitaire nach Rooiklip Campsite 196
9. Rooiklip - Walvis Bay - Swapkomund 280
10. Swapkomund - Welwitschia - Mondlandschaft - Goanikontes Oasis 199
11. Goanikontes Oasis - Palmkop - Spitzkoppe 180

Drive Namibia is ok. Check in at the office was quite inadequate. We were missing camping equipment which we didn’t realize until the first evening because Willem didn’t go through the gear with us. On our second day all the lights on the dashboard on our Hilux came on. We instantly told drive Namibia and they answered yet didn’t do anything about it. A week later our 4x4 stopped working and we weren’t able to do the off roading we had planned that day. The lights coming on and the 4x4 not working were related. It would have been nice to have been given a solution when we were 2 hours from Windhoek instead of 8 hours away. If renting from them make sure to only text Jothea if there is a problem otherwise it will be ignored. After the incident with the 4x4 breaking they switched us to a ford ranger which was a great vehicle. No problems at all with it. I do appreciate the quick and efficient switch of the vehicles though. Thank you for that.
Camping equipment is a bit outdated. Also I recommend bringing your own pillows as theirs are very uncomfortable.
if you’re looking for a cheaper truck rental I guess I would suggest Drive Namibia. But throughout our whole 4 week trip we were really jealous of the nice setups from other rental companies everyone else we saw had.

Preis-Leistung sehr gut.

Rented 2 Fortuners from Drive Namibia and had a great experience. First, their price is better than anybody else I looked at. Second, the low price didn't mean sacrificing service. They were very helpful when picking up the vehicles. They explained how everything in the cars worked, how to manage the tire pressure, how to deal with a tire blowout (we didn't have one fortunately), etc. Then we ended up returning our vehicle later than expected (Windhoek late afternoon traffic is no joke) and they stayed up 30 minutes past closing for us to get the vehicles back to them.
They are the only car hire company in Windhoek that I would use.

Renting a Toyota Fortuner from Drive Namibia for three weeks was an easy and seamless process! No hidden fees and the best value I found. Xante was very professional and helpful. She even delivered the vehicle directly to me after our long flight from the US.

We were still dealing problems with leaking tires (they were leaking from the sides - a defect in the tires, not that we damaged them). From the beginning, we solved the problem with the gearbox. We were at the service station, which we had to pay for. However, the car has good equipment (tent, fridge, stove, dishes) and everyone at the rental company is very helpful.

Fantastic rental agency!!!!!
After reading some reviews I've got a car from Drive Namibia Car Hire, and that was this time the right decision.
The car was in excellent condition and the Nissan really surprised me positively. It has a bit less storage space than a Hilux or Ranger, but other than that it's a great car and we had 0 problems with it on our tour trough Namibia.
Yes, the camping gear itself is a little dated, but the cars condition is so much more important. And the price reflects the gear. It's a very fair price if you ask me, and you pay a lot more on other places and still can't be sure if the car is also in such a great condition.
I've had on another occasion half a year ago a horrible experience with a scam from an other operator. Hendrik from Oryx 4x4 rental in Cape Town cheated not only us, but a dozen groups. So I was very reluctant to rent again a 4x4. Thought I do it this time in Namibia, not SA again.
And oh boy was I glad I went with Drive Namibia Car hire. Communication, Pickup, and advice were perfect, fast and uncomplicated.
You have to give your route when renting a car and you're not allowed on every route trough Namibia, which might limit your flexibility, and also, your speed is monitored and limited to 80 on gravel, 110 on tar roads. Those 2 points were putting me off a bit, but I knew the route I would take and you don't want to be faster on gravel anyways. Also there is no audible signal if you should go faster - I got told - as in some other rental companies that have these kinds of sensors.
I'd rent any day again from them, and will certainly do so when next time in Namibia.

We hired a Toyota Fortuner 4x4 (no camping kit - I prefer sleeping in a bed!) for a 25-day, 5,000+km road trip. We are so glad we rented from Drive Namibia! Alfred, Jothea, and Xante were all wonderfully helpful from start to finish. Pricing was very competitive. Alfred was reachable and responsive through WhatsApp while we were on the road and provided terrific route recommendations and advice. The car performed perfectly and even survived an encounter with an angry elephant! Drive Namibia was helpful, understanding, and very fair in assessing and repairing the damage. This is an excellent company, highly recommended. If we are fortunate enough to return to Namibia, we will definitely use them again.

A lovely experience with Drive Namibia after renting a Nissan NP300 with camping equipment to drive around Namibia for 3 weeks.
From the beginning, Drive Namibia was quick to respond to my many questions via email and phone.
Upon arrival in Windhoek, pickup was smooth and informative. Drive Namibia was also available over WhatsApp to answer any questions we had.
Camping equipment included everything we needed, and was in good shape.
When we experienced some wear and tear issues with the vehicle about 2 weeks in, Drive Namibia was very quick to respond and provide solutions so that it did not impact our trip too much. They also handled the repairs very fairly. I would definitely book with them again!

We had an amazing experience! We rented the car for 5 weeks and had no issues with the car. Also the equipment was perfect! The only thing is that you can not really get an insurance that fully covers the damage in case it is your own fault. We were not totally comfortable with that although the owners are very friendly and reasonable!

We had a great trip thanks to "Drive Namibia". Both the owner and employees were very helpful and available. They did everything to help us whenever we needed them, and even more they did it quickly so our trip would be the less impacted as possible. We talked mostly with Xante who is a very kind person, thank to all of you !

Friends of us recommended Drive Namibia as they used them for a self-drive tour a few years ago.
And it was a good choice, everything was easy and we felt comfortable during our 3-week drive, the car had everything we needed and we never had any problems with it.
Thank you for making it possible for us to do discover your beautiful country.

We had a drive from Windhoek to approx 200km south of Sossusvlei and then via Sesriem, Solitaire to Swakopmund and then back to Windhoek. The different sceneries were amazing. The various colours and mountains around every corner, so beautiful. The 4x4 rented was very good and comfortable. Very nice car hire people, helpful and with much knowledge.
All perfect
Thanx a lot
