March 21 is an important day for Namibians who are very attached to their sovereignty.
Probably one of the most important dates for the country: March 21. It is the day when Namibia celebrates its independence! There are parades, sports matches, festive gatherings, traditional dinners... If the country pays tribute to the end of many massacres, notably the Herero and Nama genocide, March 21 is a joyful day. March is also the month of Mpabira-Enjando, a street festival with the colors of the country's folklores and ethnic groups. Costumes, dances and traditional songs take over the streets of the capital.
