In the Olympia district, a traditional German carnival with a parade and masked party. A must-see.
At the end of April, it's time for the Windhoek Carnival, also known as the Wika Windhoek Karneval! Created in 1952 by a group of German expatriates, this week-long celebration is reminiscent of Munich's Oktoberfest. In the capital's Olympia district, numerous events inspired by popular balls and worthy of traditional German carnivals take place, with parades and masked parties. A festival where, once again, beer flows freely!
