TINTENPALAST
Building housing the seat of both houses of the Namibian Parliament, with beautiful gardens and a bowling green.
Erected in 1913 as the headquarters of the colonial administration of South West Africa, this building served as the administrative centre for the various governments. Today it is the seat of both Houses of the Namibian Parliament. The name Tintenpalast (Ink Palace) refers to the amount of ink swallowed up by the bureaucratic red tape of the colonial government. The gardens of the palace are splendid, especially during the flowering of the jacarandas. More surprisingly, it is home to a popular Lyon boules court at weekends.
