The immensity of the arid plateau vibrates under the heat (which in summer can reach 70°C on the ground). The rocky soil seems white-hot. An oasis appears in the blurred horizon: it's the Ai-Ais spa, a surprising village of bungalows built here to take advantage of a natural hot spring. The spring, long known to the Namas, offers waters rich in fluoride, sulfate and chloride, renowned for their benefits (but not drinkable). Ai-Ais is also the starting point for the Fish River Canyon hike.

La piscine extérieure est gratuite et chauffée ce qui est très agréable d'autant qu'elle est équipée de transats
L'aire de pique nique est ombragée. La source chaude...c'est un peu anecdotique !
Cet endroit est en cul-de-sac donc il faut rebrousser chemin. Par contre la route est magnifique (certes un peu bosselée) , on a l'impression de pénétrer dans le canyon. A mon avis seule la route justifie le détour.
