DIAZ POINT
Diaz Point is a very strange place with a lighthouse, a campground and a coffee shop.
Diaz Point is a very strange place, with a lighthouse, a campsite and a coffee shop. A touch of civilization after 20 km of rocky terrain! At the end of the road, an elevated rocky outcrop offers a magnificent view of the (often) raging sea as it foams against the coast. A copy of the cross planted by the Portuguese Bartolomeu Dias in 1487 stands proudly. From here, you can continue south to Grosse Bucht. Be sure to bundle up warmly, because even in the height of summer, the cold wind can blow your hair off!
