Nice family farmhouse in an idyllic setting that offers perfectly maintained and comfortable rooms.

Pretty family farmhouse, bordered by high palm trees, in an idyllic setting with views of the surrounding mountains. The eight recently renovated rooms are perfectly maintained and comfortable. In the evening, you share your meal with the other guests in the former converted ironworks. The products come from the farm (which can be visited) and the typical Namibian cuisine. The campsite is shaded, very pleasant and perfectly equipped. Campers can eat at the farm and have access to the swimming pool.

This was our second stop in Namibia and we had absolutely not expected, how cold it would get that night. Luckily the absolutely friendly and open host gave us some blankets for the night in our tents without us even asking. He knew better that otherwise we would have frozen. We were happy for the talks in the guesthouse and especially the wine in the evening. Bathrooms at the campsite are clean and big. The Camp is beautiful and we loved anjoying great sunset and -rise.

Die Anfahrt auf der D826, dann über die Zufahrt, sich der Duwisib Guest Farm (& Castle) nähernd, ist schlicht und ergreifend WUNDERSCHÖN. Parkähnlicher grüner Baumbestand im goldgelben Gras, einen Trockenflusslauf durchquerend, ein Farmgebäude, palmenbestanden, wie es schöner nicht sein kann. Dazu im Hintergrund das Schloss, einem Phantasiefilm entsprungen. Ein sehr netter, uns freundlich empfangender, anschaulich-informativ erzählender Farmer (Jochen). Die Campsite, fußläufig zwischen Farmgebäude und Castle, ließ keine Wünsche offen. Die Einrichtungen waren blitzsauber und sehr gepflegt, das Areal fein säuberlich geharkt, zudem standen wir unter einem schönen, schattenspendenden Baum. Der Preis, Ende Mai 2022, für das Gebotene war absolut angemessen. Für alles eine beste !!!Weiterempfehlung.
PS: Das geharkte Areal erwies sich als wichtige Informationsquelle. Am frühen Morgen entdeckten wir einige recht große Spuren (Tatzen: Raubtier?) auf dem Areal vor unserem Bushcamper.
Da wir gerne (allein zu zweit ;-)) stundenlange Wanderungen unternehmen, verzichteten wir schweren Herzens auf den (so uns berichtet) schönen Nashorn-(zw. Rhino-)Trail.
