SWARTFONTEIN MOUNTAIN AND DESERT GUEST-FARM
Go there and contact
Located at the top of the plateau overlooking the dunes of Du, the guest house of Swartfontein (black fountain, in afrikaans) offers a unique landscape of arid plains, mountain chains and kopjes. You will be greeted by Silvia and Roberto, in the old farmhouse where the smell of Mediterranean dishes and the warmth of the vast library of Italian furniture will help make your stay exquisite. Set aside for a relatively small group (8 double rooms), Swartfontein offers farm drives and guided hikes on the Namib Spreetshoogte Nature Reserve of over 8 000 ha, where ostriches, wildebeests, koudous, zebras of mountains and plains, oréotragues, otocyons and kebab.
But what one likes above all is the light browning from a sunset from the top of the Col Pass, before relaxing with a glass of wine… At dawn, you can climb on the kopjes near the farm to marvel again… In short, a perfect step between Windhoek and Sesriem.
