LE PORT
It is possible to take a tour of the merchant port by car, after requesting permission from the police station (Security Offices) at the entrance. The presentation of a passport is obligatory. The location is particularly strategic for Namibia, which wishes to make the port of Walvis Bay a "regional logistics hub" competing with South African ports to serve in particular landlocked countries without access to the sea (Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana). It has equipped itself with a new rather impressive container terminal.
