From Walvis Bay or by combining the excursion from Pelican Point, this agency takes you to discover the desert. The 4 × 4 drive through the dunes and along the ocean until you reach Sandwich Harbour. Lunch break in the middle of the dunes completed by an oyster tasting. Many photo breaks along the way. Not to be missed, but fasten your seatbelt and be warned: it's rough! Don't hesitate to tell your guide if the ride makes you dizzy, he is used to it and adapts to everyone

Located 55 kilometers south of Walvis Bay, Sandwich Harbour is part of the Namib Desert. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is one of the world's largest deserts. With dunes over 100 meters high, come and meet the Atlantic Ocean in a breathtaking contrast of colors. Sandwich Harbour is a photographer's paradise. A full day can be spent shooting the panoramic landscape, which is constantly changing with the position of the sun. Few places in the world can rival the extreme contrast of the desert-ocean meeting. Close-up encounters with birds and other animals make for superb photos and fond memories.

We were a group of 9 seniors and booked 3 vehicles for the full day tour of the dunes but when we arrived we were told there were only 2 vehicles (and I had received an email the day prior to our tour confirming the 3 vehicles). Fortunately one of our group wasn't able to join us and we were able to "cram" into the 2 vehicles....definitely was not a comfortable day (I have no idea where we would have put the 9th person...on the roof maybe???).
I've booked with the company several times over the years but will definitely have second thoughts (or only book one vehicle for a group of 3 - they can't change that reservation!!!) for future visits.
The office person had a lot of excuses and did give us a small discount when I requested it....but the crowded conditions in the vehicles definitely took away from enjoying the tour.
