It's a little expensive, but it's worth it ????

Great location, the rooms and hotel are a bit outdated, definitely in need of a renovation.

Front staff are not friendly and not professional at all. Cannot be bothered to greet you or get up when they speak to you. When I asked to speak to the manager, she simply ignored me. I will never stay here again.

Never is really long time…. But I will NEVER EVER stay at any Protea Hotel again! Me and my colleagues booked in today; colleague’s key-card not working and when they got it open the door was struggling to close again. Moved him to a new room. We went for dinner. They ran out of Windhoek Draught. Unfriendly waiter; had to call him to take our order. Worst food ever! Very small portions at a very very expensive price. Food cold and tasteless! When one of my colleagues sent his ‘very raw’ and cold sirloin steak back they suddenly had no sirloin steak anymore. When i got to my room my key-card was not working. Went back to receptionist and it seemed like a huge effort for her to help me. She finally got it fixed. Went back to my room to get ready for bed…. Bed lamp not working, aircon sounded like ir is going to explode any moment, dirty shower curtain, dirty bath mat, almost no toilet paper, bedding dirty!!! I will NEVER EVER stay at any Protea hotel again! Worst experience ever!

Worst staff I ever met in a hotel. Badly run. I estimate it s closing soon, so nobody cares about anything. Definitely do not care about the guests. Shame for a 4 star hotel. Reality is 1 star....must be closing down soon and shame on protea , Marriott group for having such a badly run hotel on their portfolio.

The place is a perfect place to be. Serine environment with cheerful staff. Food is Devine and indeed worthy the stay. Google maps might confuse you a bit to get there but the manager promised to put better signs.

This was really not a nice experience. The hotel claims to be 4 star, yet most of the airconditioners are broken, the swimming pool and grounds are very poorly maintained, the rooms are dirty and the bathrooms are not up to the standard of even a one star hotel, yet they insist on asking prices that are unreasonable and very expensive. The hotel is definitely not worthy of the name protea by Marriott.

Worst Protea out of all in Africa. And I have been places! Staff is lazy, slow and quite rude. Their system is constantly down. They don't realize they are in Marriott. Rooms and building itself is fine. But service... This part of the country is more like Angola then like Namibia (different tribes with different approach than in Zambia, South Africa). And you meet people of color with attitude here, like in the US. Very unpleasant.
Restaurant fish with mashed potatoes was tasty though, but cooked for 45 minutes or so. Cost $8 USD per person. Extra star for that.

The owner needs to start renovations the place is soo out dated, also housekeeping needs to understand that one needs to clean underneath the toilet seat the amount of urine that has accumulated underneath is disgusting.

The stuff is lovely and polite and helpful i must say.
Ive only had brekfast there and its totally great, loved it.

The hotel has a plaque outside at reception depicting 4 stars. This sadly is not the case for a number of reasons.

Let us start with the positive points first, the airconditioners in the rooms work. And this heat that is rather a necessity more than it is a luxury. Bedding seems to be clean and not too worn which also makes a stay more comfortable.

Breakfast also is not bad at all and manages to set up your day well.

The negatives are items that can be fixed and rather easily. Should I say most of them can be fixed easily.
The first negative is the staff. For the simple reason they lack proper training. A well trained attentive staff member can make an average establishment into a good one.
The restaurant for dinner also leaves much to be desired as service was slow and the menu limited with items not being in stock.

The overall experience leaves one decidedly underwhelmed given that it is part of Protea Marriot group.

The problem one has to deal with is finding a reputable establishment and in areas such as these one tends to revert to tried and tested brands. It’s when these brands then fail to live up to their own standards that one feels let down.

Not the worst place I’ve had to spend a night but certainly not the best either. Next time I would think twice before returning as a guest

Horribly overpriced for local travelers, as they feel they have the opportunity to do that due to lack of proper accommodation in direct area, and much better value for money in Oshikati, 33kms up the road.
