CHEETAH CONSERVATION FUND
This research and awareness centre welcomes the public eager to know the situation of the cheetah, which is highly threatened in Africa with a population of only 15 000 still in the wild. Namibia is the country with the largest population (2 500 individuals) and the foundation makes every effort to safeguard it. The major problem is the space that is increasingly occupied by our species and leaves less and less room for nature. Thus, the cheetah, of which 90% of the population lives outside national parks, is considered a scourge by farmers who kill them to protect their cattle and sometimes even, for their skin. The CCF program is comprehensive, including research programs, education and awareness campaigns, and actions with farmers, including the use of herd protectors. There is a volunteer program, see their site. It is possible to stay sleeping in a luxurious environment.
