METEORITE HOBA
Go there and contact
The largest meteorite, weighing several tons, is located at the front of Etosha Park by Namutoni in Grootfontein.
Before reaching Etosha Park via Namutoni, a detour (only if you have the time) of about a hundred kilometers (not much on the scale of the daily distances usually covered in Namibia) allows you to admire the biggest meteorite ever fallen on our planet. Discovered only in 1920, it is believed to have been there for 30,000 to 80,000 years. This mass of almost 60 tons consists mainly of iron (82%), nickel (16%), copper, cobalt and chromium. A small extraterrestrial piece in a lunar country!
