MONKICHI
The area around the Tsukishima station (a little eccentric, east of the centre on a small artificial island) is very interesting from a catering point of view. Restaurants by ten have been grouped there. And there is, among other things, the excellent Monkichi. It's simple, the first thing to do is remove its sweater or jacket, and drag it into the box under its seat, or bench, instead. A hot plate is installed in the middle of the table, and each customer can cook his dish with the ingredients made. The simplest thing is to ask the server for a hand. Try okonomiyaki, a kind of pancake or pizza, or monjya-yaki in a more liquid version. The restaurant's fried noodles (yaki-soba) are delicious. An address very… playful.
