In the Edo period (1603-1867), this shop was called "Chin-ya" (the Pekingese shop) because it sold pets, especially Pekingese dogs, to feudal lords and rich merchants. When the shop became a restaurant in 1880, the nickname remained. Then in 1903, the address specialized in shabu shabu and sukiyaki. These are kinds of Chinese fondues, readapted with local ingredients, cooked in a pot. With such a history, this is the perfect place to appreciate the authentic recipe!
