SAWANOYA RYOKAN
A wooden bath overlooking a garden, small tatami rooms and low prices make this warm ryokan recommended.
A cosy ryokan in the heart of Yanaka, an old Tokyo district that retains all its charm. The Sawa family, who run the place, bend over backwards to guarantee their guests a memorable stay. At every district festival or national celebration, the house is on the warpath to introduce foreigners to Japanese festivities. The ryokan is comfortable, clean and inexpensive. The staff speak English. Ask for the room on the top floor, with the terrace if it's still available... Rental for a few hours during the day is possible.
