A wooden bath overlooking a garden, small tatami rooms and low prices make this warm ryokan recommended.

A very warm ryokan located in the heart of Yanaka, an old district of Tokyo that retains all its charm. The Sawa family, who run the place, bend over backwards to guarantee a memorable stay to their guests. At each district festival or national celebration, the house is on the warpath to make foreigners discover the Japanese festivities. The ryokan is comfortable, clean and cheap. The staff speaks English. Ask for the room on the top floor, with the terrace if it is still available. Renting for a few hours during the day is possible.

Nous avons passé nos 2 dernières nuits dans ce ryokan (juste après notre ascension du Mont Fuji), et nous regrettons de ne pas être resté plus longtemps! Les bains sont magnifiques et se privatisent. Le personnel est convivial et très agréable, les chambres traditionnelles sont magnifiques et très propres (lavabo présent dans les chambres sans salle de bain), le Wi-fi est disponible gratuitement et toutes leurs petites attentions font de ces quelques jours un merveilleux séjour. Je recommande vivement cet établissement.
