On the weekend of May, Tokyo's oldest temple celebrates its founders in a must-see three-day parade.

One of the most popular festivals in Tokyo. It is held in Asakusa, commemorating the founders of Sensō-ji. During the three-day celebration, about 2 million people visit Sensō-ji. The heart of the festival is undoubtedly the parade of mikoshi, the divine palanquins carried around Asakusa on Saturday and Sunday by people in traditional dress. However, the festivities start on Friday with a procession of people dressed as geisha and priests of the Edo period. All in a joyful atmosphere.
