The building dates back to 1920, and for a number of years was the tallest building in Japan, standing at 70 meters high. Parliamentary sessions are held here: in the south wing, those of the House of Representatives, and in the north wing, those of the House of Councillors. Its main façade symbolically faces the Imperial Palace, embracing its moat and sakurada-mon gate. The library holds over three million books. Located in the heart of Nagata-chō, the building is close to the Prime Minister's residence.

Very beautiful place. The view from the top of this tower is superb. Tokyo is dominated and, despite a almost constant mist, goes on this urban immensity.
