IKEBANA SOGETSU MUSEUM
Take ikebana flower arranging classes in the style of the Sogetsu school, all in a beautiful building in the heart of Tokyo.
In 1927, Sofu Teshigahara, son of an Ikebana master, broke free from the traditional rules of flower arrangement to create a true artistic avant-garde of this art. He opened a new school of ikebana: Sogetsu. The Sogetsu school has a magnificent building designed by Kenzo Tange, where some of the works of Teshigahara and his descendants, who all put their personal stamp on this floral art, are exhibited. It is especially the ideal place to sign up for a lesson or several, and thus learn about ikebana in English. Not to be missed.
