MARCHÉ TOYOSU
Toyosu Market officially opened its doors to the general public on October 13, 2018, replacing the mythical Tsujiki Market. It is located on the artificial island of Toyosu in Tokyo Bay, not far from the old market (by transport). Usual opening hours are from 5am to 4pm-5pm, but many shops and the information centre do not open until around 7am. It offers tourists the opportunity to observe how auctions are run and especially to have lunch in adjacent restaurants that receive fresh fish directly. Located in large, modern premises, the facilities are both more pleasant and less picturesque than those of the old market. The site includes three main buildings: two buildings for fish and seafood, and a building dedicated to fruit and vegetables.
