Beautiful 650-year-old temple with three rooms available for rent, exclusively for women
This beautiful temple is part of the Nichiren sect and dates back 650 years. Three rooms, known as shukubō, are available for rent, but only for women. Service is basic. This is not a hotel, and you need to bring your pyjamas and toiletries. The main attraction is the peace and quiet: the moss gardens and the musical swaying of the bamboo groves are well worth a visit. Reservations must be made using the online form, and a little knowledge of Japanese will undoubtedly come in handy, as the staff don't speak English.
