This small museum is for textile lovers. Shibori is a traditional fabric dyeing technique that has existed for over 1000 years in Japan. This dyeing on silk which gives a faded result is famous all over the world. Like all ancestral practices, it is slowly falling into disuse. The museum offers a unique opportunity to discover it and especially to test it. During a workshop in English, you will make a shibori scarf for example. In addition to the experience, it makes an original souvenir of your stay in Kyoto.
