In the third street parallel to Oike-dōri south, once crossing Karasuma-dōri avenue to the east, is a curious temple in hexagonal form, Le-dō. It was founded in 587 by Prince Shōtoku, and it is said that the monk Shinran (who himself founded the temple Nishi Hongan-ji) came to a daily pilgrimage to this temple for a hundred days from Mount Hiei.
