Cultural event celebrating the Uruguayan national identity and highlighting the culture, arts and traditions of the country.
It is one of the most important events in the country, dedicated to the culture and rural traditions of Uruguay. For a whole week, the park is transformed into a traditional village with food stalls, local artisans, equestrian competitions, rodeos, dances and folk music concerts. The highlight of the week is the Patria Gaucha parade, which takes place on April1, the day Uruguayan troops defeated Brazilian troops in the Battle of Paysandú in 1864.
