Built between 1804 and 1869, this colonial-style building, classified as a national historic monument, was the headquarters of various public institutions: the Legislative Branch, the Superior Court of Justice, the Police Headquarters, the National Council of Administration and the Ministry of Foreign Relations. Since 1959, the building has housed the city's history museum, which still holds the great founding acts of the city and the memory of its founders. Conferences, screenings and guided tours are organized; ask for information on site.
