Also known as the Museo Zoológico Dámaso Antonio Larrañaga, this mysterious Arabic-inspired building was once a ballroom for the Montevideo aristocracy. Since 1956, it has housed the Oceanographic Museum, which has quickly become a popular attraction for young and old alike. In its display cases, you will see a large collection of naturalized animals (especially species in danger of extinction) and their detailed descriptions. Didactic and playful activities are offered to children.
