This museum recalls a dramatic episode that made the world tour in 1972. It is about the crash of the flight 571 Fuerza Aérea Uruguaya in the Andes. This small plane, which was flying from Montevideo to Santiago, carried 45 passengers, including a rugby team, who were trapped in the mountains at an altitude of 4,000 meters, without clothes or food. Some survivors of the crash survived despite the abandonment of the search, notably by eating the bodies of the victims preserved by the cold. They were rescued 72 days after the accident.
