The Figari Museum is dedicated to the work of Pedro Figari (1861-1938), one of Uruguay's most outstanding artists. Not only known for his impressionist paintings depicting the popular life in the countryside (it is worth noting that he started to paint only in his sixties), Figari was also a well-known politician, writer and journalist. The space houses a permanent collection of some 40 of his paintings, as well as temporary exhibitions on various themes related to his artistic work and memory.
