Plaza Fabini, inaugurated in 1964, is also known as Plaza del Entrevero because of the eponymous fountain installed here. It marks the beginning of Libertador Avenue leading to the Palacio Legislativo. In the center of the plaza is the El Entrevero monument, designed by José Belloni in honor of the independence fighters. The basement houses the SUBTE exhibition center, which regularly offers interesting plastic art exhibitions, although the room is rather modest (open Monday to Saturday from noon to 7 pm).
